You've definitely hit on something here. I've long noticed a tendency for a lot of men to not want to "prioritize connection over all else" but, being a guy myself, I haven't noticed this in relationships, I've noticed it in friendships.

It's very rare for me to meet another guy who wants to have meaningful friendship in which we 'truly' know one another, there is a definite desire to keep things on the surface level. But this is less common with female friends I've had.

Anyway, thanks again for writing this, insightful and really made me think!
